articoli poliuretano

Polyurethane is an extremely versatile material. Its exceptional properties can be applied in the most diverse industrial and production sectors. Its most important properties, that distinguish it from other elastomers for their outstanding values, are:

• exceptional scratch-resistance
• elevated load-bearing capacity
• high shear-strength

Polyurethane is also able to offer an optimal resistance to oil, atmospheric agents, solvents, acids and chemical agents generally.

No other elastomer is able to offer the same range of properties at such high levels.
Polyurethane is available in a vast range of hardnesses, from 20 to 95 Sh A, and even to 60 and 75 Sh. D (this is the hardness of plastic materials such as nylon or Teflon, but this material possesses the elasticity of rubber).
Polyurethane can be moulded not only by injection moulding like other plastics, but also by casting. This allows the production of details in large dimension and complicated shapes but also in limited series due to the cost-effectiveness of this type of moulding process.

Polyurethane can be vulcanised on many different metals and on plastics to produce rollers, wheels or any other type of even complex article due to its ease of moulding.

The highest hardness grades of polyurethane can be worked by machine tools like any other plastic. Our company is able to provide a wide range of semi-worked articles such as rods, sleeves, sheets and blocks, also of great thicknesses if required.
As a result of its exceptional properties, the range of hardnesses available, ease of moulding and versatility generally, this material is able to solve successfully a vast range of problems arising in  many industrial sectors.
