Plastic profiles are obtained by extrusion using special machines for working plastic materials in a molten state, that creates profile by forcing the molten liquid through an extrusion die.
Production of plastic profiles and tubes
Many types of plastic materials can be extruded, such as:
• PVC
• Polypropylene (Moplen)
• Polyethylene
• Nylon
The plastic profiles produced can be rigid or flexible. Flexible materials include: plastified PVC, thermoplastic rubber and polyurethane. Co-extruded profiles can be produced that are partly rigid and partly flexible, and that can be used to resolve a variety of problems.
Apart from profiles, extrusion can also be used to produce plastic tubes of all sizes, and for all purposes.
AGED – based in Turin but operating over the whole of Italy – is able to provide all these types of profile, providing help and advice during the design phase, and allowing the customer to benefit from their know-how.
The company is also specialised in producing auto-adhesive profiles through cold application of adhesive tape followed by thermo-activation. Further workings can also be performed on profiles and tubes that include: cutting to measure with optional end-shaping, application of hot melt to render adhesive, tube perforation for draining purposes (sub-horizontal drains).
